As you’ve probably figured out already, I’m all for finding fun and easy ways to earn a little extra cash and score some perks. Really, who isn’t? This week’s Spare Cash Saturdays Tip is a really fun one, especially for music lovers and MP3 addicts.

Imagine getting paid to listen to music!

Ok, it’s not just as easy as it sounds, but it is pretty simple and fun. There are several sites out there that will pay you to listen to and write reviews on new music by artists trying to break in to the industry. Your opinions actually do count as you get to play a part in the making of the next big music sensation. Think of yourself as sort of an “at-home A&R.”

Below are some of the most popular programs. These are all free to join and mostly work the same way:

  • You listen to new music that has not yet been released to the public (usually right from your computer)
  • You’ll be asked to either write a review of the music or fill out a survey rating the music
  • You are awarded points for doing so, which are redeemable for other cool prizes (usually CDs, DVDs, or something music related)
HitPredictor (formerly PromoSquad) – Share your opinions by voting in their polls and you’ll earn points redeemable for cash, dvd’s, cd’s, video games and posters. There are also opportunities to win prizes from raffles, contest, and sweepstakes.

Music Research – Music lovers can begin downloading free music instantly and earn points by participating in on-line surveys and telephone interviews. Reviewers will also be entered into monthly prizes for listening music.

Radio Music Survey -Through Radio Music Survey, you’ll be asked to review music samplers and participate in surveys to help radio stations play the best music.

Song People – Primarily focused on the UK and International music scene.

Have you tried any of these? Share your experiences below!
